Climate change is a change in long term temperature and weather patterns.
The observed changes to our climate since the mid-20th century are due to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, driven mainly by two human activities of burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
It is important to study climate change because of the impacts it will have across our world. Sea level rise, severe drought, and decreased food crop yields are just a few of the effects of global warming and climate change. All of these effects are already being felt globally and will continue to worsen in the future if action is not taken to stabilize our climate.
