A biome is a biological community that shares a climate.

There are eight (8) types of biomes:

• aquatic – freshwater & marine
• grassland – plant cover & grasses
• savanna – grasses & scattered trees
• tropical forest – canopy forests 
• temperate forest – variety of deciduous trees
• Tiaga – the boreal forest
• desert – little vegetation 
• tundra – treeless, rolling ground found in cold regions
