SUMMARY:Malibu Lagoon State Beach Trail Maintenance.
DESCRIPTION:Malibu Lagoon State Beach is truly a gem in Southern California! This stunning coastal park offers visitors a variety of recreational and educational opportunities. It’s also an excellent location for bird watching and the study of a unique tidal wetland ecosystem. Visitors can enjoy the Adamson House\, which overlooks the Malibu Lagoon (where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean) and Surfrider Beach (one of the first places modern surfing developed). This historic house is a California Historical Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can also enjoy Malibu Lagoon Museum and Malibu Pier nearby. \n\n\n\nHelp clear the lagoon trails throughout the park! Most of the work will focus on pruning and lopping overgrown vegetation out of the trail corridors to provide clear and safe access for park visitors\, including along ADA-compliant trails. We will be using loppers\, hand pruners\, hand saws\, McLeods\, and rakes. Care will be taken in pruning native plants and removing invasive weeds and grasses. This project will help promote the health of the native plant restoration throughout the lagoon. Ages 14 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian). \n\n\n\nFull opportunity address and directions will be sent to you by e-mail after you sign up. \n\n\n\nSpace is limited\, you will need to register for this event. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here
