COP29 is the next meeting of the group of 198 countries that have signed the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
It is being dubbed the “finance COP” because it’s seen as a chance to align climate funding with global needs. However, key aspects of the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) are still being debated, including the target, who contributes, the scope of funding, and the relevant Paris Agreement articles.
