A tidal marsh is a marsh found along coasts, rivers and estuaries.
These marshes are flooded and drained by the tidal movement of the adjacent estuary, sea or ocean.
Benefits of healthy tidal marsh populations are:
- Filtering of nutrients and pollution from the water
- Protect communities from rising sea level and harsh storms
- Support breeding grounds for commercially valuable fish
- Offering recreational opportunities
