Hydropower (water power) creates electricity by using moving water.
It harnesses hydro-kinetic energy through the force of moving water (currents) to turn turbines placed directly in domestic rivers, estuaries, coastal waters or tidal flows, which in turn drive electrical generators that convert the kinetic energy of the moving water into electrical energy.
It is a method of renewable, sustainable energy production.
