An aquatic biome is a large naturally occurring community of plants, animals, and other species living in an aquatic habitat.
The aquatic biome has two parts:
-
Freshwater regions of the biome – streams, lakes and rivers have a low salt concentration.
-
Marine regions of the biome – estuaries and the ocean have higher salt concentrations.
